Performance Doors & Period Windows

Panelled Doors

When it comes to high quality, traditional panelled doors, Scotts can provide the very best. Our bespoke panelled doors have been specified and used in many applications ranging from new-build to refurbishment projects, including listed buildings. Panelled doors are generally manufactured in hardwood and each one is individually created to maintain high performance standards whilst preserving the character you require.

Refurbishment

For refurbishment work, the appearance of existing doors can be recreated using timbers specially selected to blend in with existing doors and joinery. Ironmongery and period fittings can also be provided to maintain the aesthetics of the building.

New-Build

Doors to match any standard or custom design of traditional panelled door can be produced to the highest quality. An extensive range of designs and finishes ensure you achieve your ideal solution.

Performance

Panelled doors can be enhanced to provide improved sound attenuation, fire resistance and weather resistance. Scotts is one of the few manufacturers who can offer a fire-resistant panelled door fully certified to BS 476 pt 22. Panelled fire doors can be provided with anything from two to ten panels, either solid or glazed.

Finishes

Any suitable, commercially available timber can be used to manufacture our panelled doors. Doors can be supplied in almost any finish to suit the detailed requirements of a particular project. Carefully selected hardwood can be used as the basis for a paint finish or, alternatively, clear lacquer can be applied to let the natural grain show through.

Examples of the many veneers available can be seen by clicking on this link: www.veneering.com/samples.htm

Glazing

To ensure the quality of workmanship is maintained throughout we recommend that any glazing aperture, within our panelled doors, is factory glazed by our own experienced craftsmen.

Panel Configurations and Mouldings

The choice of panel configurations and moulding profiles is almost limitless. The most common panel configurations are two, four or six panels - as shown here - although virtually any combination is possible.

The profiles of the rails, muntins and stiles can be varied to taste and examples of common mouldings are detailed within our brochure.
