Specialist Performance Doors

Scotts flush and panelled doors can be enhanced to meet a variety of performance requirements, whilst retaining the visual appeal of a natural timber door. The following performance doors are available from Scotts:

To avoid any compromise in performance, particularly where safety is at stake, it is recommended that all interacting components - door, frame, hinges, glazing and seals - are obtained from a single source. Acoustic Doors

Doorsets can be manufactured to provide a weighted sound reduction index in excess of Rw40dB for a typical doorset/wall assembly. Appropriate seals will always be included with Scotts acoustic doorsets.

Fire Doors

Fire resistant doors - from 30 minutes up to 1 hour - have all been successfully tested in accordance with BS 476 pt 22 by UKAS accredited test stations. Specifiers and end users alike, therefore, can have complete confidence that Scotts flush and panelled fire doors will perform to their designated period of fire resistance.

X-Ray Doors

With the inclusion of the appropriate code of lead to BS 3909, our doorsets can provide resistance to the passage of x-rays in accordance with stipulations laid down by the National Radiological Protection Board. Long experience of working directly with hospitals and architects has enabled Scotts to develop x-ray doors for most kinds of specialist application.

Anti-Vandal Security Doors

Scotts doors are fully tested for mechanical strength in accordance with BS DD 171, and can be further enhanced to provide protection against the opportunist thief or more determined intruder. A variety of heavy duty features, such as steel or anti-bandit glazing, offer extra protection where it is needed.

Vapour Barrier Doors

For doors in highly exposed conditions, and situations where extreme climatic differentials may be experienced, a vapour barrier can be incorporated into the door construction.

Smoke Resisting Doors

Where necessary, Scotts doorsets can be fitted with an appropriate sealing system to ensure that the possible leakage of cold smoke is kept below 3m (cubed) per linear metre, per hour at 25Pa. Fully tested in accordance with BS 476 pt 31.1.
