Doorsets

The many benefits demonstrated by the use of factory hung doorsets are being increasingly recognised, as more and more specifiers and contractors are advocating their use.

In renovation and development projects particularly, individually tailored doors are increasingly being requested as a pre-hung doorset, with customers preferring to have matching door frames for their new, stylish doors, instead of using the old, existing frame work.

Clearly, major savings in time and money can be achieved by specifying and using Scotts’ bespoke pre-hung doorsets. Additional benefits include:

• No site adjustments are necessary as tolerances and clearance gaps are pre-set in the factory
• Materials are supplied from a single source
• The risk of damage is reduced as doorsets can be fitted at a later stage in the contract
• The moisture content of both door and frame is controlled, reducing the risk of differential shrinkage
• Doors can be simply lifted out of the frame and stood aside whilst frames are fixed
• Colour and grain of timber for door and frame can be more closely controlled ensuring the doors have matching frames
• Costly site labour is reduced
• The risk of performance being compromised, by inexperienced site labour, is greatly reduced
• Concerns over the validity of fire certificates for mixed and matched doors and frames are eased
