A statement from James Scott, Managing Director, detailing the Company’s Brexit position.
Scotts has prepared the following statement and will review it as the Brexit deal is confirmed. It remains too early to know the exact nature of the final Brexit deal so, to a great extent, we are all navigating uncharted territory.
What we can say, with utmost confidence, to our customers is that Scotts of Thrapston is firmly committed to delivering first class products and ensuring continuity of service in the coming months and years.
Approaching 100 years in business, Scotts recognises that all external forces must be treated seriously in order to continue the longevity of our operation. Scotts will be energetic in responding to external pressures, throughout the Brexit process, while continuing to operate in all existing markets, with minimal disruption to customers and our business.
All of Scotts products are manufactured in the UK, primarily for UK customers. Where we do import products and materials from mainland Europe and non-EU countries, it is via a well-established process and robust supply chain. Nevertheless, we are constantly talking to our supply chain to ensure our service levels and productivity will not be effected, whatever the outcome.
Our primary business objective is to ensure that we offer continuity of product to our valued customers, wherever they are. At this time, we advise that there is no need to change your normal ordering process with Scotts.
We understand that many customers have concerns so we will continue to review our position as more information is supplied by the Government, over the coming months.
