It’s a hive of activity here at Scotts as we prepare to exhibit once again at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
It’s a glamorous day in the gardening calendar and last year was no exception for us. We took five summerhouses and launched our new soft furnishings range – Silver Birch, Lovebirds, Nature and Woodland – and enjoyed a tremendous show.
Incredible gardens, enthusiastic visitors and sunshine – 2018 proved to be a real highlight and we are delighted to be exhibiting in the same spot this year on Stand 32, in Southern Road.
Being situated on one of the main thoroughfares, it was great having wonderful views of the main garden exhibits. Equally, there is nothing like strolling along Main Avenue, admiring the incredible imaginations of the experts.
The RHS Chelsea Flower Show has been the backbone of our summerhouse story for decades and we are proud to exhibit on this worldwide stage yet again and marvel at the history of this magnificent show, which started life at the Royal Hospital in 1913.
We are looking forward to a very special link-up with our Northamptonshire friends, handcrafted artisan gin producers, Warner’s Distillery, during the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
Owning a summerhouse is all about enjoying your outdoor space – relaxing, entertaining and spending quality time with family and friends in your garden.
So, here’s one of Warner’s recipes for a perfect summer drink to get the party buzzing:
35ml Warner’s Honeybee Gin
Dollop your honey into the bottom of your flute glass and add the Honeybee Gin. Using a spoon, stir until the honey dissolves, then top up with prosecco. If you’re making more than one, try adding your Honeybee Gin and honey into a cocktail shaker, then pour a serving into each of your glasses, before topping up individually with prosecco. Garnish with hibiscus!
During the RHS Chelsea Flower show, we are also running a competition on Twitter with a Warner’s Distillery Gift of Nature Edition Box as our prize. Each box has been carefully designed to be upcycled as a wildflower planter, bee hotel or bird box and contains a 70cl bottle of Warner’s Honeybee Gin. This is the ideal prize for gin lovers that love nature!
The competition launches at 9am on Monday, May 20, to coincide with press day at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and closes at midnight on Saturday, May 25. Visit our Twitter page @scottsthrapston follow us and retweet the competition post to enter – good luck! See our T&Cs
Owning a summerhouse means you can let your imagination run riot on how to decorate it and we have certainly had fun getting ready for this year’s show.
We are exhibiting a 3.9m Sun Ray Garden Room which will be dressed for a celebration party – imagine a 60th birthday, a silver wedding or your child turning 18 – what better place to celebrate?
Our 2.4m Burghley summerhouse will give a nod to the current prominence of botanical designs and their joyous celebration of nature.
We are also taking a 2.2m Newhaven Corner summerhouse which, in honour of the partnership with Warner’s Distillery, will be themed as a gin palace, especially for this event.
Our Baltimore summerhouse, on a rotating base, is the perfect hideaway where you can escape and be at one with nature in your garden.
And finally, our Balmoral, also on a rotating base, will celebrate all that is great about the British seaside – a design trend that shows no sign of waning. Think neutral colours, driftwood and deckchairs – now all we need is the sunshine!
We have a range of summerhouse blog posts to help you with building design and gardening tips.
