Scotts has recently completed a carbon efficient timber-framed building, with capacity for 48 pupils, in Lavenham, Suffolk.
The “Lavenham Early Years Centre” was officially opened in October 2017. This new education building includes a bright and spacious purpose-built play space, staff room, office space and a separate ‘quiet room’ to support children with special education needs. A large outdoor play area has also been created using natural resources to enhance the children’s learning and development.
Take a look at the video below to see how the building was designed hand-in-hand with the council and pre-school staff.
“We are so excited to be providing the families of Lavenham, and surrounding areas, with a new care and educational, early year’s environment. The new building means we can also open in the afternoon, which is especially good news as from September the amount of funded childcare available to parents has increased from 15 to 30 hours.” said Katherine Eves, pre-school manager.
She added, “A huge thanks to everyone in the local community who has supported us with this project as we look to extend, and build on, the excellent care we already provide.”
At Scotts, we take great pride in our approach, which combines superb design, excellent service and a sustainable mindset.
It means that we can offer schools such as Lavenham pre-school a quick, cost effective and high quality permanent solution as demand for new, modern classroom and play spaces increase.
We believe that this new early years centre will provide the ideal learning environment in which young children can thrive and achieve their full potential.
