We recently supplied a 3.6m Burghley to Vicki McDavid from Leicestershire who has subsequently been running her floristry business from the summerhouse.
The summerhouse belongs to Vicki’s mother and was originally bought for her enjoyment last summer, but Vicki identified an opportunity to use the summerhouse for her business, Paisley Flowers Co. which she started up two years ago.
Vicki uses the summerhouse for storing, conditioning and arranging her bouquets on a workbench which she has had fitted.
The owner of Paisley Flowers Co., Vicki said: “My mum bought this summerhouse and it was completely empty so I asked if I could use it for my business instead of filling my living room with flowers every day. When she agreed to let me use it I think she thought it would be temporary yet a year later she is still bringing me cups of tea.”
“The summerhouse is such an ideal place to arrange my flowers. It’s naturally lit, airy and when the weather is nice I open the doors and take my work table outside for inspiration.”
At Scotts we recently launched a new range of larger summerhouses in response to a demand for extended outdoor living space. It is great to see Vicki’s commercial use of the Burghley summerhouse.
This is a perfect example of the versatility of larger summerhouses proving that they are not solely suitable for recreation.
