Casement windows

DESIGNED FOR NEW BUILD PROPERTIES

The Scotts New Build Range is highest performing and certified to enable its selection in a new build property where the highest levels of thermal performance and security are mandatory.  Scotts New Build windows are market leading and are comprehensively weather sealed and certified to BS6375.

THE CASEMENT WINDOW – HOW IT WORKS

Casement windows have opening sashes that are connected to the frame by hinges. Traditionally these would have been butt hinges attached to the frame jamb but the Scotts
New Build Range uses modern concealed friction hinges positioned at the head and cill of the window.

These friction hinges allow the window to open to 90 degrees and also have a clever built in facility that allows the sash to be pushed away from the jamb
so the windows can be easily cleaned from the inside.

Casement windows can be singular or supplied with any number of multiple sashes in a common frame (double, triple or quadruple casements) with a combination of
opening or fixed sashes.

For combination windows the vertical frame section that separates each sash is called a mullion. If the window has a fanlight the horizontal frame section is called a transom.
