The Writers Retreat

2.384 x 2.384m (approx 8ft x 8ft). 2.077m to eaves height and 2.920m to the top of the ridge detail.

The Reading Room

2.384m x 3.602m (approx 8ft x 12ft). 2.177m to eaves height and 3.020m to the top of the ridge detail.

The Exterior

Manufactured from pressure impregnated European Redwood with feather edge profile to external cladding. Finished in a commercial quality, Lapland Grey stain finish.

The Reading Room

Manufactured from fresh sawn European Oak, with feather edge profile to external cladding.

The Interior

The Reading Room

Lined in either birch faced boarding as standard or tongue and groove European Redwood boarding, at an additional cost.

Insulation can be supplied for both buildings, at an additional cost - price on application.

The Base

The Writers Retreat and the Reading Room must be erected onto a level, hard standing area, either concrete or smooth paving slabs. The base plans for the two buildings are available here as a downloadable PDF.

The Floor

Manufactured from pressure impregnated, tongue and groove, European Redwood boarding.

Doors and Windows

The craftsmen made doors and windows have black powder coated traditional ironmongery and are fitted with toughened glass. Finished in a commercial quality, Buttermilk paint as standard.

The Writers Retreat has a traditional, lockable stable door while the Reading Room has a pair of lockable doors.

The Roof

The National Trust Summerhouses are both supplied with a high quality, corrugated galvanised steel roof with matching ridge detail.

Upholstery

The day bed cushion is filled with foam and the cream cover can be removed for dry cleaning.
