An exclusive housing developer has called upon the skills of leading joinery manufacturer, Scotts of Thrapston, to help restore a 150-year-old Maida Vale property.

Tasked by Invicta to create a range of bespoke doors in keeping with the original style of the property, Scotts’ expert joiners were able to design, manufacture and deliver nine unique doors within just a six-week time period.

A further project was commissioned as part of a complete ground floor renovation in Stamford, Lincolnshire.

Designed to be in keeping with the heritage style of the property, engineered timber doors finished with solid timber veneers and like for like mouldings were created. The doors were then hung in a solid timber frame with like-for-like bespoke skirting boards and architrave.

Brett Goldsmith, joinery sales manager for Scotts of Thrapston, said: “As the new interior and colour scheme of the property had been designed and created by an interior designer, it was imperative that the doors replicated the style and colour scheme of the home throughout the whole of the ground floor.

“We were able to design and manufacture engineered timber doors that deliver a 100% stability guarantee and promise zero movement. This means there would be no risk of the doors bending or warping from the heat emitted by underfloor heating.

“This was a unique project for which we were able to manufacture bespoke doors for the kitchen, pantry, sunroom, dining room, hallway and bedroom. It was thanks to the quality craftsmanship delivered on two previous projects that Scotts were chosen to carry out the work.”

David Goodridge, managing director for Invicta Developments Limited, said: “For this particular project we needed bespoke doors with matching architraves and casements.

“Having previously worked with Scotts we knew they could deliver on the technical aspect of the brief and were our first point of call.

“To have the doors produced on-site would have been labour intensive with significant costs attached, but we knew Scotts could manufacture pre-assembled doors at their purpose-built factory.

“It was then just a case of having our team of joiners hang the doors, there was no mess, it was hassle-free and no trimming was needed on site.

“I would absolutely recommend Scotts, the client was treated with the upmost professionalism and was guided through the whole design process allowing for them to make a very simple and informed decision.”

As well as prestigious refurbishment projects, Scotts of Thrapston also designs bespoke doors for luxury new build homes guaranteeing only the highest quality internal and external flush doors.
