A Thrapston-based joinery manufacturer has consolidated its Buildings team with two new appointments.

Scotts of Thrapston has taken on two experts to strengthen the department, as they bring with them a wealth of experience.

Mark Walker joins the company, which celebrates its centenary next year, as an Estimating Co-ordinator, while Phil Nash has joined the team as a Sales Manager.

James Scott said: “We are delighted to welcome Mark and Phil as they really strengthen the team bringing different skills to the table.”

Scotts of Thrapston has a reputation for manufacturing high-quality, specialist timber products including summerhouses, stables, pavilions, timber doors, windows, bespoke joinery, roof trusses and education buildings.

Mark is from Somerset and regularly visits to watch Somerset County Cricket Club. He has a strong background in the industry working as a senior estimator.  He said: “I came to Scotts because I really wanted a change of scenery and a new challenge and I love the fact that the company is nearly 100 years old and a family business.

“I have worked mainly in steel before and am looking forward to working with timber – a much warmer, more organic material.

“I enjoy following projects all the way through from the initial call or email, to meeting a client on site and listening to a client’s needs. I’m a team player, and very driven, so when tasked to do something, it will get done.”

Phil is from Towcester and has been in the construction industry for more than 30 years. He has a wealth of experience in technical, B2B, industrial and architectural sales.

Phil said: “I am delighted to have joined Scotts as I am looking forward to the challenge of developing the commercial business in the south of England.  I have an ability to understand, analyse and develop various markets and develop long-term relationships with key stakeholders to maintain and grow business potential.

“It’s a great feeling to be working for a reputable company about to celebrate 100 years in the industry. I aim to raise the profile of Scotts in the commercial sector and develop new customers as well as maintaining our established and loyal customer base.
