Scotts is consolidating its growth with two new appointments to further strengthen the business following a half-a-million-pound investment in updated machinery.

We have appointed a new production manager, Ian Latham, following the installation of a new CNC Router earlier this year, together with Tom Barfield, who has joined the company as a new joinery sales manager.

Ian (pictured left) brings with him a wealth of experience having worked for 35 years in the timber, joinery and furniture trade, including 25 years with his father’s family business. He has also worked abroad in Africa and more recently for a German company, project managing large installations of joinery and furniture production lines all over the world.

Ian said: “Working abroad is a fantastic experience, but I wanted to come home. I have taken my time to find the right job and eventually this one arose. The fact it is a family business really appeals as it has a traditional history, but the future is being embraced in modernising the buildings and shop floor as well as the factory technology.  I have a real enthusiasm for the job and the industry and aim to focus on efficiency, quality and future-proofing an excellent long-standing company.”

Tom (pictured right) has broad experience in the timber window and door industry.  He commented: “I have known about Scotts’ reputation and its strong brand for years and to become part of it, as it approaches its 100th year, just felt like a wonderful opportunity and I am excited about the plans for the future. I’m here to grow sales and I’m hugely excited at the prospect – it’s a very sound base to work from, as my colleagues have years of experience and knowledge in estimating, project management and joinery manufacture.”

Scotts is delighted with these new appointments and the wealth of experience that Ian and Tom can offer the business.
