At Scotts we have launched a fundraising initiative as a final celebration to mark our centenary year. Employees at Scotts are being encouraged to sign up to run or walk 100km between October 1 and December 10 2020.
The Scotts Centenary Challenge has been launched in a bid to raise funds for the Milton Keynes-based charity, Ride High. Ride High aims to transform the lives of disadvantaged children and those having difficulties in their daily lives, by giving them the opportunity to learn to ride and care for horses.
Also, due to the pandemic crisis, many charities are struggling as fundraising avenues become more limited. Scotts originally planned to have a team riding in the Ride London 100 mile cycling event, to raise money for Ride High. However, as this wasn’t possible we thought it would be a great idea to finish our centenary year by helping the charity with our own fundraising event.
Employees signed up for the challenge are asked to record their mileage by using a tracking device or app. Participants who reach or exceed the 100km target will be entered into a draw with three prizes up for grabs including a Smart watch.
Employees donated £3 to enter the Centenary Challenge and all the entry fee funds raised by Scotts employees will be matched pound for pound by Scotts.
Scotts has also created a fundraising page for family, friends and stakeholders of the company to help boost the overall fundraising total.
