Keeping Up with the Hollidge Family

It has been four years since we last spoke with the Hollidge family from Surrey. We recently caught up with Judy Hollidge to see how her and her family have continued to enjoy their dream stables from Scotts.

Judy said, “Since 2016 we seem to have changed much in our horsey world, but the stables remain the same. We’ve not done anymore building work, I think we were all exhausted by the house project! However, we did finally manage to purchase the three plus acre field that ran alongside our property. We tidied that up and it gave us a flatwork/jumping field and a field for grazing.”

Judy worked closely with Scotts to create her dream stables for her family.

It was Judy’s lifelong dream to be able to see her horses from her kitchen window. Something she now never takes for granted, especially as the Scotts stables blend in beautifully with the style of their home.

Since then a lot has changed for the family. Judy’s son, Sam, evented at a couple of BE100s in 2018, but his interests started to move slowly away from riding and turned to long boarding, surfing and skiing.

Meanwhile, Judy’s daughter, Issy, still an avid equestrian lover, has gone through a 14.2 pony and evented last year with Sam’s old horse at BE100. Near the end of 2019 she got a new horse, in which she is building a partnership with and is now eventing at BE100 and will hopefully get a run at U18s at Wellington.

Issy would love to do a Novice towards the end of the season, if all goes well in the interim. She also carried on participating in show jumping and eventing for both her pony club (Mid Surrey) and her school (Cranleigh), where she had huge success at the NSEA championships in 2019.

Judy, herself, has now got back into riding again and joined the riding club last year where she partook in events such as two UA ODEs at 80, nearly 35 years after she last evented. Judy has also entered into her first BE90 event, which she is very excited about.

Judy concludes “We have been so delighted with our stables from Scotts. They have continued to keep our horses and ponies safe and secure. We could not have asked for anything better.”
