The roof becomes the crowning glory for your summer house, so it is important to choose the materials that complement your style ambitions. It is also vital that the roof protects you from the weather, and whichever roof option you choose, minimal maintenance should see it last for between 20 and 30 years.
Moulded from composite glass fibre, you can select from a realistic lead or slate effect roof styled to fit as standard on many of our summer house models. Designed to realistically simulate slate tiles or lead, this material provides the ultimate protection from UV rays. A glass fibre roof is supplied as standard on the Balmoral, Baltimore, Newhaven (2.2m model), Burghley (2.4m) and the Sun Ray Garden Room (3.4m model). A moulded composite roof like this can provide a clean, modern aesthetic, or the opportunity to allow moss and plants to grow, providing naturalistic appeal.
Alternatively, you might prefer an all-natural cedar shingle roof, treated to deliver maximum preservation. Our summer house roofs are fitted with only the highest quality Grade 1 Western Red cedar shingles emanating warm tones that complement the natural verdure of your garden. Cedar roof options are all decorated with a stunning copper finial (except on the Sun Ray Garden Room). A cedar shingle roof is supplied as standard on our Burghley Summer house (3.0m and 3.6m models), the Newhaven Corner Summer house (3.0m model) and the Sun Ray Garden Room (3.9m and 4.4m models).
